Work Experience:

Graduate Research Assistant
Southwest Research Institute | Jan. 2019 – Present

  • Work with principal investigator to perform qualitative research on coronal mass ejections, interplanetary shocks and energetic storm particles.
  • Planned, modified, and executed research techniques, procedures and tests.
  • Designed and wrote Python code to create a large dataset including physics-derived values for use in study that will also be available to the community.
  • Completed dataset to study of solar events and their associated energetic storm particles on Earth and near Earth orbit using Machine Learning techniques.

Learning Assistant/Laboratory Teaching Assistant

Texas State University | 2017 – 2018

  • Supported undergraduate students in core physics classes by facilitating discussion groups and providing assistance when needed
  • Attended weekly preparation meetings in which material for the coming weeks classes were reviewed. Physics learning styles, common misconceptions and useful techniques to overcome them were discussed.
  • Attended weekly lab preparation sessions, developed and understood various techniques students could complete the experiments
  • Led students in experiment exercises in physics laboratory, answered questions and facilitated discussions, graded weekly lab reports.

 Small Business Co-Owner/Manager/Technician

CCI Computer Services | 2000 – 2018

  • Daily interactions with customers, provided phone and on-site IT support.
